Terms of Service

The plain-English rules for using ReadMore. The short version: use it for your own reading, pay for what you use if you go Pro, and your books stay yours.

Last updated: 12 July 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

ReadMore is a browser extension for reading PDF and EPUB files, provided by TipaHaus, established in Malta ("we", "us"). These terms govern your use of the ReadMore extension, the readmore.tipahaus.com website, and the paid Pro and Lifetime plans. By installing the extension or purchasing a plan you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use ReadMore.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we do and do not handle; it forms part of these terms.

2. The free plan

The free plan lets you read PDF and EPUB files on a single device, with up to 10 books and the free themes, at no cost and with no account. We may change what the free plan includes for future versions, but we will not remove access to books or reading data you already have - that data is stored on your device and belongs to you.

3. Pro and Lifetime licences

Paid plans unlock additional features, including cross-device sync through your own cloud storage, unlimited books, and all themes. When you purchase a plan we issue you a personal licence key by email.

  • A licence is for your personal use and may be activated on up to 5 devices at a time. You can deactivate devices yourself from the extension's settings.
  • You may not resell, share, or publish your licence key. We may revoke keys that are clearly being abused (for example, a key activated across an implausible number of users), and we will contact you first where reasonably possible.
  • Pro (subscription) renews automatically - yearly or monthly depending on the plan you chose - until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; your plan then runs to the end of the period you paid for and does not renew.
  • Lifetime is a one-time payment for a perpetual licence to the ReadMore extension, including future features, for as long as we offer the product. It may be transferred to a new email address by contacting support.
  • If a subscription ends or a licence is revoked, the extension returns to the free plan. Your books, bookmarks, and reading data are never taken away - they live in your own storage and remain readable.

Pro features validate your licence periodically over the internet. We keep the validated period generous, so short offline stretches do not interrupt your reading.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by our payment partner (Stripe) on its hosted checkout; we never see your card details. Prices are shown at checkout, include VAT where applicable, and may change for future purchases - a price change never affects a period you have already paid for. If a renewal payment fails we will retry and notify you before the plan lapses.

5. Cancellation, withdrawal, and refunds

Cancelling a subscription: you can cancel at any time; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period.

EU/EEA and UK consumers - 14-day right of withdrawal: for digital content supplied immediately, you consent at checkout to delivery of your licence key straight away and acknowledge that you thereby lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once the key is delivered and usable. If you purchased but have not activated your key, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full.

Statutory rights: nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the law of your country of residence, including remedies for digital content that is defective or not as described. If ReadMore does not work as described and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a proportionate refund.

For any billing issue, email support@tipahaus.com - unhappy customers are handled case by case, and we would rather refund than argue.

6. Your content and your storage

ReadMore reads files you supply and stores your library on your device or in cloud storage accounts you own (Google Drive, Dropbox, or a Synology NAS). We do not host, receive, or moderate your files, and we claim no rights over them. You are responsible for having the right to read the files you add and for complying with the terms of your chosen storage provider. Connecting a storage provider is subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: circumvent or attempt to circumvent licensing or payment; probe, disrupt, or overload our services; use ReadMore in violation of applicable law; or redistribute the extension in modified form. You may not reverse engineer the licensing components except to the extent a law expressly permits it despite this clause.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep ReadMore reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability of Pro's online features (licence validation, purchase processing). Reading itself is local-first by design and works offline. We may update the extension and these terms as the product evolves; material changes to the terms will be reflected in the "Last updated" date, and continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. If we ever discontinue the product entirely, we will give Lifetime and active subscribers reasonable notice, and your locally stored and cloud-stored data remains yours and readable.

9. Disclaimers and liability

ReadMore is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by the law of your country, our total liability arising from or related to ReadMore is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or EUR 50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for gross negligence, intent, or - for consumers - the statutory guarantees of your country of residence.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. If you are a consumer, you additionally enjoy the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own country's courts. We would genuinely prefer you email support@tipahaus.com first - most issues are solved in one reply.
